Prior to taking on this role Nicolas was Head of Business Development and Licensing at Bayer in Beijing/China. His responsibility included to lead licensing- and M&A deals from lead identification to deal closing under multiple partnership formats.

Frederic Bonfils, CSAP

Frederic Bonfils is the Corporate Alliance Management Director for the Pierre Fabre Group, a position he has held since 2014.

He has been awarded the Certification Strategic Alliance Professional (CSAP) by the ASAP (Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals). He is member of the Pierre Fabre Business Development and Licensing Management Committee and is an active member of the French Chapter of the ASAP.

Frederic Bonfils joined the Pierre Fabre Group in 2005, and prior to taking on his current role in Alliance Management, he held various positions in marketing, international key account management and marketing/development. During this period, he worked in a wide-range of business units and therapeutic areas, including Oral Care, OTC, Urology, Respiratory and CNS. In all of these activities, the management of external partnerships played a prominent part of his responsibilities.

His previous professional experience over 15 years was gained with Hoechst Marion Roussel and Aventis/Sanofi, working initially as a financial analyst and later in international marketing & sales positions, including international subsidiary management.

Harm-Jan Borgeld, CSAP, PhD

Harm-Jan Borgeld is leading the alliance management department at Merck KGaA. The department is responsible for the commercial, development, research, and selected regional alliances. Before heading the alliance management department, he was leading a project team that worked on developing a novel immunotherapy to treat cancer. He started his work at Merck in the licensing and business development department. Pior to Merck, he was responsible for the business development activities of the Japanese firm, Kyorin Pharmaceuticals, in Europe. He received his MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, the Netherlands / Haas Business School, US, and his PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nagoya, Japan, and graduated from the Wageningen University, the Netherlands.

Elena Cavalli, CSAP

Elena Cavalli is a well-experienced Pharma Professional with strong Alliance Management and Divestment capabilities. With a highly flexible mindset, she has held a variety of Commercial roles with growing responsibilities for Commercial Business Development, Sales and Marketing both at local and Global levels at Hoffmann La Roche (CH). Elena has expanded further her capabilities at Astellas Pharma Europe (UK), by successfully establishing the Alliance Management role within the EU organization, and leading the Strategic Alliances for in-licensed assets since 2012. More recently, Elena has additionally taken over the role of Divestment Transition Lead successfully leading the QUTENZA Divestment Transition, while in parallel maintaining her role of Alliance Management Lead for Strategic Alliances.

Throughout her tenure, Elena has generated a culture of thorough internal alignment ahead of every strategic discussion with the partners generating an effective and agile, decision-making environment. Elena is an enthusiastic active ASAP member; CA-AM and CSAP certified.

Elke Dittrich-Wengenroth, PhD

Elke is heading External Innovation Therapeutics at Bayer, Pharmaceuticals Division, since October 2014. The functions's mission is to ensure early access to breakthrough innovation to enable a sustainable, value-creating pipeline of innovative products by fostering external partnerships based on scientific excellence, mutual trust and successful alliance management.

Elke is a biologist and received her Ph.D. from the Rheinisch-Westfälische-Technische Hochschule Aachen, Germany. She previously held the position of a Global Program Head within Drug Discovery at Bayer HealthCare leading cross‐functional teams from preclinical development up to clinical Proof of Concept in different therapeutic areas e.g. Cardiology, Hematology, Ophthalmology and Gynecological Therapies.

She started at Bayer as a Lab‐Head identifying new targets and lead compounds in the indications Atherosclerosis and Thrombosis. During that time, she was also responsible for lead optimization project teams, optimizing first lead structures up to the identification of a clinical development candidate.

Lara Haynes

Lara Haynes is an Alliance Manager at UCB where she leads alliance activities for complex top tier Strategic Alliances. She has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years in a variety of relationship management, operational and outsourcing roles.

Most recently, Lara was pivotal in the Integration launch and management for the largest Asset Acquisition that UCB has ever done. During this time, she used her valuable experience in Alliance Management best practices such as Governance, Day 100 Launch Plan, Issue Management and setting the foundations for successful collaborations.

Rob holds a BS in Computer Science and is a member of the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals, earning their highest CSAP certification in 2019.

Yuri Khakhanov, PhD

Yuri Khakhanov is Director for Projects Development at Skolkovo Innovation Center which goal is to create collaborative innovative ecosystem in the high-tech hub near Moscow. His responsibilities include managing a network of hundreds innovative projects. Yuri also facilitates collaborations between small innovative companies and large business to accelerate hi-tech projects' growth.

His previous experience was with Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO), which is the leading organization for hundreds nanotech portfolio companies. Yuri was responsible for business development of Rusnano's collaborations with Russian and international hi-tech companies. In addition, Yuri led nanotechnology road mapping and Foresight, as well as Rusnano technology platforms.

Yuri Khakhanov holds a Ph.D. in Management and Economics. He graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University: M.Sc. with Hons. in Innovation Management, B.Sc. with Hons. in Nonlinear Dynamics and Networks.

George entered the field of alliance management as the first Global Alliance Director at Roche following a 15 year career in Medicinal Chemistry in Wellcome and GlaxoWellcome and biotech consulting . After a 9 year career at Roche in UK and Switzerland where he gained extensive experience in alliance management, BD and M&A integrations he joined GSK Biologicals in Belgium to establish and head a new Alliance Management and Operations function managing a range of strategic alliances in Vaccines development. In 2015 George joined UCB in Brussels where he developed the Alliance Management Centre of Expertise and later initiated the Alliance Management Community establishing alliance management as a recognized and value-adding capability within the company. George recently joined Ipsen as VP Head of Strategic Alliances Europe where he is also developing an Alliance Management Centre of Expertise.
George holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham, UK.

Philip joined HPE in 2017 through the SimpliVity acquisition, and while at SimpliVity he led their Global Platform Alliances for nearly four years. Prior to SimpliVity, Philip fulfilled several roles at EMC including Hardware Engineering, Business Operations, and Partner Business Development. Philip has been working in the IT industry for 24 years, holds BS and MS degrees in Engineering and an MBA. Prior to joining VERITAS Dion held General Management positions at Hewlett-Packard, DELL, Samsung & DXC. In these positions he owned sales, strategy & transformation across multiple regions for outsourcing, products & services. Dion has extensive global experience with Distribution, Reseller, System Integrator & Alliances from his tenures in these companies.

He sits on the Board of Byte Night. An Action for Children charity focused on eliminating child abuse & homelessness. He has two sons & enjoys all sports, prior to commencing his IT career he was a football player for Camberley Town & Aldershot FC.

Henrik Sorensen, PhD

Henrik Sorensen joined Immunocore Ltd in 2013 as Head of Alliance Management with responsibility for introducing and establishing efficient Alliance Management capability to service the strategic partnerships with four major pharmaceutical companies; GSK, Genentech, Astrazeneca (MedImmune) and Eli Lilly. Henrik has more than 18 years of experience in the Biotech and Pharma industry with roles spanning across pre-clinical and clinical drug development. Gary relocated to the US from Zurich, Switzerland, where he was the European Marketing Manager for HP's Enterprise and Commercial NAS portfolio. Prior to Gary's two years in Zurich, he spent 5 years in as Senior StorageWorks technical lead in HP's European Storage Competence Center in Sophia Antipolis, France. From 1997-1999, Gary helped design and build Compaq's International Database Competence Center located in San Francisco California. While in California, Gary worked with first generation Fiber Channel products, building Compaq's initial portfolio of Cluster Storage Solutions.

Before Joining HP/Compaq in 1997, Gary worked at Sybase building their Corporate Technology Assessment Center. Prior to moving to California, Gary worked at the Art Institute of Chicago for 8 years, where he designed and implemented their WAN Infrastructure. In 1994 he led the project of connecting one of the US's largest museums to the Internet.

Educated at Michigan State University, Gary holds a Master's Degree in International Economics. His hobbies include Antique clock repair, Mediterranean cuisine cooking, and Photography.

Mark van Helvoort, PhD, M.Sc. PMP, PBA

Mark is a certified project manager who is responsible for the public private partnership program within Philips Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He has participated in a large variety of public-private partnership projects in different European schemes. Currently he is leading the PENTA DISPERSE project. He (co)authored a good number of patents, scientific and technical papers and wrote two books on EMC for large systems and complex installations. Mark is a Senior Member of IEEE and KIVI. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Eindhoven University of Technology.

Lucinda Warren

Lucinda (Cindy) leads the Neuroscience Business Development Team globally and all business development activity in Japan as a Region, including scientific finding, licensing transactions, mergers, acquisition, out licensing, divestitures and alliance management.

With over 25 years of broad industry experience, Lucinda began her Pharma career in Canada. In 1999, she joined the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies and has held various USA and Global roles of increasing responsibilities, including Sales, Marketing, New Product Development, Alliance Management, and Business Development Leadership. Lucinda has been responsibility for the leadership and oversight of some of Janssen's longest and largest global commercial alliances in addition to leading the global integration of Johnson & Johnson's single largest asset REMICADE®, back into the organization in 2011.

Just prior to joining the Janssen Business Development Leadership Team, Lucinda led the Immunology Business Unit in Australia, returning to the USA in 2014 as VP Alliance Management, Janssen, responsible for leading the total Pharmaceutical portfolio of collaborations.

Lucinda received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta, Canada.
